~ Description ~

Autumn of 1741.  There are whispers of bloodied disappearances, stirring the villages into a wild frenzy. You are a young ruler of the Holy Roman empire, thrust into power after your father's death.  As your empire teeters at the edge of war, this so-called vampire outbreak is the last thing you need. Pissed off, politically at a loss for what to do, and frankly needing a break from the drama of the Viennese royal court, you decide to accompany a party sent to stamp out these foolish rumors of vampirism for good. But the journey isn’t easy, and the little village tucked in the country of Morova is starting to give you doubts about just how fantastic these vampire are.

Gerarhd van Sweiten, the cold-hearted doctor. | he/him

This brilliant physician is mild mannered and soulful, with a mournful air and a fierce passion with his loved ones. When you ascended the crown, van Sweiten was (rather reluctantly) summoned to Vienna to serve as the court physician and librarian. Despite his reluctance to join the court, his shrewd observance and quick wit lend themselves handily to it--making him a most valuable right hand. Rather sassy when pushed, the doctor is strongly against the superstition of vampirism as it clashes with his staunch scientific beliefs. Or is there another reason for his scorn? He is of medium height with light brown hair and pale blue eyes, and is usually clad in something loose and informal from his home country.

Vjera Adalhard, the unbridled royal rider. | she/her

There’s something scrappy and flinty about the horsewoman, in the set of her slightly chapped lips and burning in the hot coals of her eyes. The daughter of a Morovan merchant, Vjera has completed the trek many times before and has no problem showing you the way.  Her hair is choppy and dark around her shoulders. Vjera is shaken by the panic, and isn’t sure if she should believe what she hears or what she sees with her own eyes. Snarky and confident, you’d never know  of her fears if not for her nervous habit of rubbing her calloused fingers against the silver cross around her neck. Under her flirtatious, silken smooth facade, she hides a churning longing. What is she hiding from you, and what does that have to do with the bodies that keep piling up?

Nikolas/Colette/Nikolai, the charming prinz. | gender customizable

The Hungarian prinz has been sent to Vienna to woo the young Hapsburg ruler and secure an alliance between the empires. Xe is gorgeously fit, sweet as a pie, and charismatic—a dream boat, sure, but xe has to be up to something other than making the palace staff swoon and sigh. Hungary, Prussia, and other neighboring countries are itching to take advantage of your father’s death by pressing inward, but you won’t let that happen. Xe has curly dark hair that tumbles into xir hazel-green eyes attractively, emphasizing xir brilliant smile even more. But can you trust xem with the fate of your empire at stake?
